What will the world of Weddings hold for this year? I have been pondering all things cake and thought I would give you an idea of what to expect from Wedding Cakes in 2019.
Wedding Cakes have evolved a lot over the years, we have moved on from the traditional white iced fruit cakes. Nowadays, couples are not only choosing a multitude of delicious flavours across theirs tiers but cakes that are like works of art. The world of sugar offers so many options; here are my predictions for 2019.
Floral Hoops
A trend that is finding its way into all aspects of weddings, especially the flowers. Sugar flower hoops are a great way of adorning your cake with beautiful intricate flowers and foliage, adding an additional layer of design and interest. Keeping your cake simple lets your floral hoop shine.
Metallic’s
Copper is this year’s leading choice after gold taking centre stage. A lovely warm metallic that can be used throughout your wedding. Metallics can be used for a block colour of a whole tier or as added detail. Add an additional touch through your cake stand or cake table decorations.
Hexagonal
Any shape can be created. The hexagonal shape and structural designs allow for more unusual ways to decorate. Giving more ways to be creative with design, colours and finish.
Monograms
Monograms will also be a popular choice this year. Giving the design grandeur whilst also adding a delicate personal touch. There are many different ways to create your monogram or mortif.
It is evident that there are endless possibilities for your wedding cake. As couples become braver with their choices, choosing designs that reflect them and their personalities whist captivating and indulging their guests.
