About Me

Hi, I’m Hannah — the cake designer behind Hannah Hickman Creative Cake Makers, creating bespoke wedding and celebration cakes in Cheltenham and across the Cotswolds.

Since setting up my business, I’ve had the pleasure of working with hundreds of couples to design and create one-of-a-kind wedding cakes, and I still have to remind myself how lucky I am to call baking my full-time job. What began as a love for baking has grown into a career creating elegant, beautifully crafted cakes for some of life’s most special moments.

My passion for baking started early. Growing up, cake was a part of everyday life in our home, with Victoria sponges and chocolate cakes baked alongside my mum, ready for tea time when my dad came home from work. While that love was always there, it wasn’t until 2009 — alongside a corporate career in property — that I began taking cake decorating seriously. I enrolled in every evening course I could find, and it quickly became clear that wedding cake design was exactly where I was meant to be.

This journey led me to secure a prestigious placement at The Cake Parlour in Wimbledon, training under renowned wedding cake designer Zoe Clark. After relocating from London to Cheltenham in 2013, I took the leap and established my own business. Hundreds of bespoke cakes and many (many!) hours of baking later, my passion for what I do continues to grow.

Today, I work from my professional cake studio at home — a beautifully designed space in my former garage, fitted with professional-standard equipment and built with the help of my amazing dad (thanks Dad!).

At the heart of everything I do is a genuine love for great cake. I specialise in bespoke wedding cake design, combining flavour, structure and refined decoration to create a stunning centrepiece that reflects you and your celebration. Every cake is designed, baked and finished by hand, with just as much care given to how it tastes as how it looks.

My aim is simple: to create a cake that’s remembered long after your big day — for all the right reasons.
